What to do when LinkedIn posts are making less and less of an impression?
It’s a crisis: impressions on LinkedIn are making less and less of an impact. But whose fault is it? The algorithms or LinkedIn’s changing strategy, which aims to capture users' attention with death scrolling?
To illustrate this observation, I infiltrated the conversations within my community of content creators, and here’s what emerged:
Complaints like:
"It’s a disaster! On Tuesdays, I get between 1,500 and 2,000 impressions, and on Thursdays, barely 400 to 600…"
Not to mention my client who told me they expected more likes and impressions. Vanity metrics are often a source of disappointment. But if you’re addressing the right audience, you’re more likely to convert. And for that, you need to be consistent and have a good funnel with a clear objective. Otherwise, it’s like throwing a message in a bottle into the ocean.
If you want to create buzz, take inspiration from Arthur (from Les Enfants de la Télé), who joined LinkedIn. There, you’ll see some serious likes!
Problem? You don’t have his level of fame. 😉
Sometimes, I wonder if I’m on LinkedIn, Instagram, or Facebook, especially when I get sucked into an endless stream of videos. Yet, LinkedIn remains, above all, a professional platform. Did you know, for example, that you can create your own newsletter directly from your personal profile?
Of course, it’s better to avoid naming it "The Best Company in the World" or "McDonald’s," unless your audience is obsessed with burgers! But if your network is full of vegans, you might not make many friends. Are you following me?
👉 Consistency means creating content that speaks to your target audience and makes them want to engage further with you. If you claim to be a defender of made-in-France products but only sell Chinese goods, people will call you Arthur… right?
So, why create your newsletter on LinkedIn?
-
To reach a more precise audience
-
To structure your communication and make it more coherent and consistent with a clear intention.
Just this morning, a client confided in me that she was struggling to justify her value, even though she’s 100% legitimate with her experience and expertise. She wanted to explain to her audience how she was different. My response? It’s the context of the conversations—in the right place, with the right people—that highlights your legitimacy and creates perceived value in the moment. Do you agree?
And as the bald guy who wrote a book about the purple cow (yes, Seth Godin) says:
👉 When you need surgery, you want an expert and experienced surgeon. It doesn’t matter if they’re "authentic."
On LinkedIn, it’s the same.
What matters is expertise: being seen, heard, and recognized. If you don’t show up, how can your audience guess that you’re the right person to solve their problem?
💡 Visibility and positioning take months of work, with a real personal branding strategy. But if you want quick results, start now and attract followers, including those outside your immediate circle.
Did you know that the LinkedIn newsletter allows you to reach the inbox of your subscribers and connections directly, ensuring more stable and targeted reach?
